SXD2 DAC
The SXD2 USB DAC is a Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) with Universal Serial Bus (USB) connectivity. Offering upsampling to 192kHz with 24-bit resolution, the SXD2 is an effective way to improve CD player performance.
Computer based audio can be played-back using the SXD2 via the USB connection. Essentially, the SXD2 USB DAC is a high end external sound card, offering hifi performance not only for music, but also gaming and production. The SXD2 comprises of a high-resolution 24-bit Burr Brown (Texas Instruments) DAC and offers automatic upsampling to a maximum of 192kHz/24-bit. CD players with an onboard DAC can be enhanced by the increased resolution and upsampling functionality of the SXD2 USB DAC. |

Power Switch Input Selector Switch 1 Digital Input (Coaxial) 1 Full-Speed USB 1.1 (Type B) 1 pair Unbalanced Line Outputs (RCA) Features: USB Connectivity Connection via USB allows the SXD2 to be used as an external sound card, providing hifi audio performance from a computer, whether it be music, gaming or production. Upsampling to 192kHz Upsampling: The higher sample rate of 192kHz provides increased resolution in the time-domain and allows the SXD2 to use a less complex analog filter, maintaining phase linearity and audio signal integrity. 24-bit Resolution 24 bit resolution: Standard 16-bit CDs use 65536 (216) discrete levels to approximate the analog signal, resulting in a signal-to-noise ratio no better than 96dB. Increasing the resolution to 24-bit uses 16777216 (224) levels, which allows a maximum possible signal-to-noise ratio of 144dB. Internal Power Supply: A custom designed, fully shielded, toroidal transformer with three separate secondary windings, provides the foundation for solid hifi audio performance. Five regulated power supplies, three analog and two digital, ensuring the analog circuitry has maximum isolation from and digital power supply artefacts and noise. PCB Layout: Ground planes and earth returns have been meticulously designed to provide optimal current paths, maintaining maximum isolation between the anlaog and digital circuits. Careful layout of the analog output guarantees that crosstalk is kept to an absolute minimum. Localised Supply Filtering: Inductor-based power supply filtering, local to each integrated circuit, ensures every last milli-volt of noise is removed from the supply rails.
